Ok so I was doing some reading and came across the story of David and the Gibeonites (2Samuel 21). They had been wronged by Saul and now David’s land was in the middle of a drought because of the wrong Saul had done. To right that wrong, the Gibeonites requested that seven of Saul’s sons be hanged. David has them gathered up and turned over to the Gibeonites. Then, they hanged those seven sons of Sual. Rizpah was one of Saul’s concubines and two of those sons were hers. Upon hearing about her sons being hanged she guarded their bodies after they were killed and stayed with them until David had them properly buried. She refused to allow what was left of her sons to be defiled until they could be properly buried. She defended what was left….

I have to ask myself what is it that I’ve left hanging and declared worthless that I should be defending? What should I be guarding that someone else has tried to kill? I should still be standing for what’s left. I have fallen and upon getting up I have left some things because fear gripped me and told me that I had messed up too bad. So I never tried “that” again. I didn’t think it was worth it any more. The truth of the matter is that I don’t have the option to leave what’s left. What God has deemed a good thing no matter how small or what’s left of it. It is still holy in the eyes of the Lord and my job is to defend it until it is properly buried, walked out, delivered, sealed, raised or restored. We are in the restoration business. As a man of God, I do not get the option of what gets restored. I don’t get the check the baggage at the door kind of relationships. I am an ambassador of Christ. A representative of the Kingdom of God. My job is not to save the lost. The Holy Spirit convicts and draws; that’s not our job. As ambassadors, we are walking out into the world with all the rights and privileges of the country from which come. We are only limited and directed by the laws of the country which sends us forth. So when we step out into the world, our job is to seek restoration and relationship with our country. So when we deal with the citizens of another country, we are to ask first what they need. Because my country affords me rights and privileges that other countries do not. In my country, we have been given and blessed with the spirit of Peace. As my commander and chief— Jesus— spoke with the disciples in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives I give to you.” That being said, I am in a country that has lost its peace. I have that peace because in my country we have been given that peace therefore I have it to give. In Matthew 10, Jesus told the disciples to declare that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand as they go. They were to let the world know what country they represented as they went. Jesus also told them to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. This is a command from my King. So, as I go I must let the world know that the Kingdom of heaven is at hand, and I have the ability by the command of my King and spiritual laws of my country to bring peace and healing and restoration to everyone I meet and everywhere I go.

WHEW!!!!!!!! Revelation power!!!!! I thank you Father for your many blessings. I thank you that you have found us worthy to be ambassadors to a world that does not know you. I choose to go back and defend what’s left. I will stand and defend my marriage and my home. I will defend my children. I will defend my ministry. I ask you to forgive me Father for abandoning things that you weren’t finished with. I’m sorry for walking off from things that I deemed done and worthless without checking with you first. Not my will Father but yours be done!

It does not matter what we think the devil has devoured, it is God who redeems. When the enemy comes and tries to devour a thing we must learn that no matter what it looks like or how little is left of it, we are to defend it in the name of Jesus.
